Help Flash patrocina el regreso de Albert Llovera al Dakar

The Andorran driver returns to the world's most high-profile rally at the controls of a modified truck from the Dutch Team de Rooy Iveco. The collaboration between the driver and the brand includes coaching sessions and participation in events with Help Flash.

Help Flash and Albert Llovera have signed a collaboration agreement to work together to reduce road deaths. The rally driver, firmly convinced of how this device, which will replace emergency triangles, can improve driver safety, thus becomes a brand ambassador.

The collaboration between the driver and Help Flash kicked off at one of the most important events in the world of motorsports, the Dakar Rally , which this year takes place in Saudi Arabia, and will continue throughout 2020 in all the competitions he participates in. The agreement also includes the Andorran athlete, who has been paraplegic since 1985, participating in coaching sessions and events with Help Flash, sharing his own experience with the aim of improving road safety. As the driver himself states, both are moving in the same direction.

“It's a pleasure to be able to collaborate with companies that help improve the quality of life of people with reduced mobility.”

Albert Llovera Help Flash is especially recommended for pregnant women, the elderly, and people with reduced mobility. That's why Albert Llovera is the ideal ambassador, not only for his status as a paraplegic pilot, but also for his attitude toward life, an aspect highlighted by Jorge Costas, CEO of Help Flash.

"The hardest part about sponsoring an elite athlete is finding someone who aligns with the company's values, and in this case, I think it couldn't have been better. We feel very fortunate to have Albert as an ambassador for our product."

Jorge Costas Llovera returns to the Dakar under the sponsorship of Help Flash, driving, for the first time in the truck category, one of the three desert monsters of the Dutch Team de Rooy Iveco.

Biography of Albert Llovera

Born in the small principality of Andorra, Albert was raised in the elite world of skiing. At just 17, he was the youngest athlete to participate in the XIV Olympic Winter Games in Sarajevo in 1984.

A year later, while participating in the European Cup in that same city, tragedy struck his professional career, and an unfortunate accident ended with the cruel diagnosis: a fractured thoracic vertebrae. From then on, his life would be spent in a wheelchair. After almost three decades, Albert has learned to live with his disability and has proven that his drive to excel can overcome any obstacle, no matter how great.

His fighting spirit and perseverance have led him to become the only physically disabled driver in the world who, driving solely with his hands, has stood on the podium as a winner alongside drivers without any disabilities—quite a challenge! To achieve this goal, Albert has had to navigate a long and difficult path filled with challenges and difficulties.

Currently, he offers the competitiveness and reliability of any elite racing driver, as his experience and training allow for the development of new technologies applicable to the automotive world. Albert Llovera returns to the 2020 Dakar with the official Team De Rooy-Iveco team.

After two years of forced absence, Albert Llovera will return to the event that most motivates him: the Dakar . This will be his sixth participation in the most high-profile event on the international calendar, and the first time he will be part of a team fighting for victory in the truck category: the iconic Team de Rooy, currently the official team for the Iveco brand.

With his presence on the podium at the start of the race in Saudi Arabia, Albert will have competed on all three continents where the Dakar Rally has been held . His first participation, on the African continent, at the wheel of an official Team Isuzu vehicle, is a distant memory. In the 2014 and 2015 editions (MD Rallye Team buggy), and in 2016 and 2017 (Tatra Bonver Dakar Project truck), he competed in South America. It was precisely his participation at the wheel of one of the so-called desert monsters that opened the doors for him to one of the teams that year after year fights for victory in the Dakar Rally.

Llovera will be in charge of piloting one of the Dutch team's three Powerstar Evo3s.
