Help Flash recibe el premio Mindtech Startup Europe Awards

Netun Solutions , for its Help Flash project, was recognized in the best startup category at the Mindtech Startup Europe Awards (SEUA) promoted by Asime , the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of Galicia, and with the collaboration of the Xunta de Galicia .

Recognition of good work

The project was awarded for its significant social impact in the area of road safety , as it helped reduce the number of road deaths.

The Help Flash device for signaling roadside incidents and contacting emergency services without having to leave the vehicle is a safer and more efficient alternative to current warning triangles.

The awards

The awards, presented on September 10th during the opening dinner of the Mindtech fair, a benchmark in the industrial sector in Vigo, are organized in collaboration with the StartUp Europe Awards (SEUA) , an open innovation initiative of the European Commission implemented by the Finnova Foundation , which has had the support of the President of the European Parliament , the President of the Committee of the Regions , the Vice-President of the European Economic and Social Committee and several members of the European Parliament .

They constitute an open innovation tool to promote public-private collaborations that improve citizens' quality of life through innovative projects. At the gala, a check was presented from the Startup Europe Accelerator , with the aim of raising awareness of the project at the European level, as well as helping to understand how the European Union works, European legislation, and how to participate in European funds.

The future of the project

Netun Solutions CEO Jorge Costas says he appreciates each recognition, "as it is the result of the intense work we are doing at the company. However, when it comes to institutions of this magnitude, the satisfaction is even greater." He also asserts that this is a very important step in the right direction "to help improve road safety not only in Spain but also globally."

Finnova's legal manager, Juan Manuel Revuelta , emphasizes the importance of Netun Solutions ' acceleration check "being used to promote legislative change at the European level that will save lives." He also emphasizes that the legislative models developed in Spain can inspire other countries.

In this regard, the Finnova Foundation sponsored a parliamentary question on possible changes to road legislation to save the lives of Europeans at the Health Committee hearing held at the European Parliament in Brussels on October 1. Commissioner-designate Stella Kyriakides appeared before the parliamentary committee and the committees responsible for the Health portfolio to discuss important issues in this regard.

This initiative seeks to raise awareness about both a public health and road safety issue , as it is estimated that around 2,000 deaths occur in the EU simply due to people getting out of their vehicles to use the required warning triangle. The Help Flash device is an alternative that can prevent more accidents and save lives by providing greater visibility and safety on the road.
