November 21st marks World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. To commemorate this year, the insurance company
MMT Seguros has donated 500
Help Flash safety beacons to the
Spanish Confederation of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities (COCEMFE) . This initiative promotes road safety and accident prevention for people with reduced mobility, as part of the Road Safety Initiative.
“Road accidents are one of the social commitments to which companies should be committed and pay the utmost attention,” explained Ana Belén Rodríguez Saavedra, Sales and Marketing Director of MMT Seguros. She noted that “this donation to COCEMFE is a commitment as a responsible and supportive company, responding to the need to support those who have suffered, to a greater or lesser extent, the serious consequences of traffic accidents, whether arising from personal mobility or otherwise.”
This action seeks to prevent accidents involving people with reduced mobility who drive their own vehicles.
“COCEMFE would like to thank MMT Seguros for this donation, given the danger and difficulties that people, especially those with reduced mobility, encounter when, due to an incident or breakdown on the road, they must abandon their vehicle to signal their situation with traditional emergency triangles, wait for the arrival of an assistance vehicle or traffic authorities, with the consequent risk and critical time waiting for help to arrive,” said Anxo Queiruga Vila, president of COCEMFE.
By having a Help Flash emergency light, drivers who experience an incident on the road can make themselves visible to other road users by placing the device directly on the roof of their vehicle from their seat, without having to leave the vehicle and without taking unnecessary risks.
Thanks to this donation, COCEMFE will be able to make these safety beacons available to people with reduced mobility in its Association Movement to minimize risks and make them easier to locate in the event of a breakdown or incident.
