Not this same year the Smart Flash project created by the company Netun Solutions receives the “Seal of Excellence” from the European Commission , a quality distinction awarded to promising proposals within the scope of Horizon 2020, or the research and innovation program of the European Union.
Smart Flash
The rise of IoT in the automotive sector is unprecedented . The current trend is the connectivity of two vehicles with roads, cities and between them. In the area of road safety, vehicle signaling is not understood without its consequent connectivity. Organizations such as DGT are evolving in the sense of connecting all or types of vehicles for continuous monitoring of the road network through the DGT 3.0 platform.
The original Help Flash project, based on vehicle signaling in the event of a breakdown or accident, evolved into the materialization of the Smart Flash device, where an advance is made in the sense of the connected assistance service.
Through a mobile application that is activated when the Smart Flash device is linked, through a chatbot with artificial cognitive intelligence to the application interage with natural languages with the user, helping this contact process with the emergency services or with the assistance service of insurance companies, sending relevant data to the user (location, basic vehicle data, medical data...) that facilitate better assistance by reducing response times.
The "Seal of Excellence"
The Seal of Excellence is a quality certificate issued to project proposals submitted to Horizon 2020 , the European Union 's framework program for research and innovation, to help these proposals find alternative financing. The guarantor certificate or compliance with two criteria of excellence, impact and quality and efficiency in implementation , valid for obtaining financing within the Horizon 2020 award.
This is a very interesting initiative idealized by the European Commission to be able to create synergies between the financing of the Horizon 2020 program and other sources of financing, which only achieves about 10% of the companies that apply for this program.
The director of the business innovation area of Fundação Finnova , Adrián Noheda , states that this reconfirmation “is of great importance for the international expansion of Netun Solutions , and positions it as an innovative company in the current competitive landscape.” Além disso, a company is chosen in the scope of the next call of the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator , the main tool for the internationalization of companies and innovative services of the European Union that finances two thousand and half a million euros for their expansion at an international level. The selection process is very competitive, where less than 6% of projects get approved.
PME Instrument
The Seal of Excellence obtained by the company Netun Solutions , within the scope of the PME Instrument call, is intended for continuity in the Horizon 2027 program, which provides 115 thousand million euros for innovation. In the case of Netun, Finnova sources inform that it can apply to the European Innovation Council (EIC) program, where the European Commission subsidizes innovative companies with 2 million and half euros, as well as supports in the form of financing of 15 million euros in a participatory loan.
