How to use Android Auto and Apple Car Play?
The introduction of Car Play and Android Auto in the industry increases daily and few vehicles do not include, at least, a pre-installation of some of these systems.
Car Play comes with a slight advantage when first connecting to the vehicle, since the system is pre-installed from iOS 7.1 on all iPhones of the fifth generation for the first time. You just have to verify that “Siri” is activated and that your voice assistance is configured.
Android Auto, on the other hand, requires downloading and installation from the Google Play Store . To be linked for the first time, in order to authorize the application to access our location and contacts, we will have to go through a small presentation of its characteristics.

What phones are compatible with?
All mobile devices currently sold with both operating systems are compatible with their corresponding car application.
For the above, you will only be able to use Android Auto with phones that run at least Android 5.0 Lollipop . Google recommends that the device has Android 6.0, but it is not mandatory.
Car Play, on the other hand, only works like the iPhone 5 and the most recent models , as long as we use the newer versions of the software (7.1 or higher) and have a Lightning input. In case of the voice assistant “Siri”, it is not compatible with third-party apps in Car Play on iOS 13 or higher.

Car Play is simpler and more intuitive, while Android Car offers much greater potential for applications from other programmers.
