Saiba como minimizar os riscos associados ao calor no seu automóvel

As you see on the doorstep, the days happen to be shorter and sunny. The weekend trips with the family or the trips to the beach are more frequent and decreasing contagion for the fairs is celebrated with each passing day. More sun and heat are also synonymous with redoubled efforts for the cars and their occupants.

The heat in your car, scorching after an entire day with the sun turning or the cabin in a sauna. With interior temperatures that can reach 60º, driving in these circumstances is not just a test of resistance, but you can also place your car at risk.

We leave here some advice on the care you should take to mitigate the risks associated with the sun and the increase in heat in your car.

  1. Check the snow and status of your tubes. The fluids you should check include:
  • Coolant/Antifreeze – This is a crucial element. If the antifreeze fluid level is too low, it can cause overheating of the engine with serious consequences for its mechanical health.
  • Engine oil – You must check the level and condition of the engine.
  • Windshield Cleaning Fluid - Nothing is more unpleasant and harmful than having the glass covered in insects or having no water to clean.

In relation to straps and tubes, intense heat may cause cracks, bumps and other damage that may require replacement. A visual evaluation can be done in itself, but if you detect any problem or are suspicious of any defect, it is advisable to take it to a specialized office.

  1. Monitor the pressure of two tires

It is a good idea to check the pressure of both tires whenever you have the opportunity (at least once a month) and always before starting a longer relocation. The tires expand when exposed to heat and maintained with proper pressure to ensure that your vehicle does not suffer any problems.

Namely, according to the specialists, for every 10 degrees of temperature increase, your tires can increase 1 to 2 pounds of pressure. Running with very low presses will cause more fatigue, increased tire pressure and increased fuel consumption.

Pressing more will cause slightly uniform tire wear (more accelerated at the center of the tread) and may also cause the tire to re-heat.

  1. Pay attention to the interior temperature

Adequate coolant at the correct level will help keep the engine cool, but there is no question of keeping it cool itself. Make sure your air conditioning system is working properly and... use it.

Maintaining a comfortable temperature in the cabin will contribute to the safety of the occupants and the concentration of heat in the steering wheel. Furthermore, the use of two modern air conditioning systems does not penalize consumption so much and driving openly does not harm the aerodynamics of the automobile, or it also leads to an increase in fuel costs.

Finally, if your vehicle has a passenger compartment air filter, have it inspected (and replaced, if necessary) so that you can get the most out of your cooling system.

  1. Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle

This is one of those items that you should always keep with you, but you won't see, and given the type of trip, this becomes especially important. A basic kit must include the following elements:

  • Battery connection cables
  • A lantern
  • Antifreeze
  • A collection of first aid
  • Um pequeno conjunto de chaves
  • Um alicate
  • Um par de luvas de trabalho
  • Algumas abraçadeiras
  • O seu dispositivo Help Flash
  1. Never leave your spirits or children inside

According to some studies, it is enough to leave the car stationary in the sun for 30 minutes, with an outside temperature of 21º, to stop the cabin at around 50º...
